Product Description
Explore the mind of an assassin in R.A. Salvatore's exciting conclusion to The Sellswords Trilogy!

The drow mercenary Jarlaxle and his companion, the human assassin Artemis Entreri, have begun to make a home for themselves in the rugged Bloodstone Lands. But not everyone is ready to trust a man who's spent his life killing for coin, much less a member of a race of subterranean elves known for their fanatical devotion to a demon goddess. If they want to make it out of the Bloodstone Lands alive, they'll have to learn to trust their enemies, and be suspicious of their friends.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best I've read   February 18, 2010

An awesome series! I wish Salvatore would have expanded on these characters, but he does introduce a couple of them to his Drizzt series. Excellent read!

4 out of 5 stars Good read   July 13, 2009

I write this review with mixed feelings. Just because I'm not happy about the way the book ended (with me mourning one character and wishing I could hurt another one) doesn't mean I didn't appreciate the journey to that end.

Characters: Jarlaxle and Artemis continue growing as beings mentally and emotionally and getting more and more developed. There were some haters of the Bloodstone Crew (Gareth and Co.) and I'm don't blame them. I'm glad the author didn't go into great character development about them because the story wasn't about them at all and it would've taken valuable print away from the antiheroes.

The way it ended seemed to kill off all reasons/ways/avenues for any furthering of this particular story line, which saddens me because I really enjoyed Jarlaxle and Entreri over the Drizz't crew (sorry, ya just gotta love the antiheroes).

There is full revelation (if you will) about what motivates these characters as well.

I don't know. I almost wish I hadn't read it so that the adventures could continue, in my imagination at least. But definately fills in all the gaps. It did seem a rushed though at some points, however.

3 out of 5 stars Listened to on MP3   May 28, 2009

I listen to audio only daily. So when a story is great I can't stop listening when a story have dull bits I tend to day dream and come
back when when it improves.

I really strugged through nearly all of this story on audio.

The narrator was absolutely brilliant and I thought a few times how his different voices for different characters were mind blowing. But a great narrator can't improve an average story.

Some parts of this story my eyes flew open in disbelief and i was gripped. Then it was so slow again I daydreamed.

I have loved other Fantasy books and have put them in my top 10 ever listened to audios. So its not that.

I will give this story a 3 star maybe more than it deserves because of the wonderful narrator. I do love magical themes. The whole concept was great just something wrong in the telling.

Hey try it and see what you think.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best in the series   November 12, 2008

All I have to say is I really love the villans/evil characters that spawned off of the Drizzt storyline. This book is one of my favorite in the series because it is all about my two favorite characters Artemis and Jarlaxle. These guys are no nonsense, at least Artemis is, and will get the job done by any means necessary. This book was totally awesome and I really cant wait for Salvatore to continue where this book ended, because these guys are great characters. I'm also patiently waiting for Artemis to find out that Drizzt is still alive. Can't wait to see that reaction! This book is truly one of Salvatore best.
