Product Description
The New York Times bestselling author of Darkfever and Bloodfever returns to Dublin’s Fae-infested shores in a bold, sensual new novel. Hurtling us into a realm of seduction and shadows, Karen Marie Moning tells the enthralling tale of a woman who explores the limits of her mysterious powers as she enters a world of ancient sorcery—and confronts an enemy more insidious than she could ever have imagined.

He calls me his Queen of the Night. I’d die for him. I’d kill for him, too. When MacKayla Lane receives a torn page from her dead sister’s journal, she is stunned by Alina’s desperate words. And now MacKayla knows that her sister’s killer is close. But evil is closer. And suddenly the sidhe-seer is on the hunt: For answers. For revenge. And for an ancient book of dark magic so evil, it corrupts anyone who touches it.

Mac’s quest for the Sinsar Dubh takes her into the mean, shape-shifting streets of Dublin, with a suspicious cop on her tail. Forced into a dangerous triangle of alliance with V’lane, an insatiable Fae prince of lethally erotic tastes, and Jericho Barrons, a man of primal desires and untold secrets, Mac is soon locked in a battle for her body, mind, and soul.

As All Hallows’ Eve approaches and the city descends into chaos, as a shocking truth about the Dark Book is uncovered, not even Mac can prevent a deadly race of immortals from shattering the walls between worlds—with devastating consequences.…

4 out of 5 stars Fever pitch   September 3, 2010

Quite a number of reviews have been written on this book, so I'll keep it short:

FABULOUSLY WRITTEN. This is dark, gritty, and nerve wracking. This is NOT a book to read when you are looking for either a quick read or a little pick-me-up. This is not for the faint of heart. This is a book for those readers who really love it when an author takes the time to weave a well told tale in a well thought out world. Heavy with fae magic and riddled with mystery, reading this book is akin to scuba diving in the arctic- awe inspiring, but you had better be prepared!

The ending is devastating, but SO WORTH IT. Take a deep breath and jump in when you are ready, because this book, this series, is not one to be missed. I am normally the first one to get very upset by abrupt endings, but the one here fits the story and we know the books continue.

Ms. Moning is a fantastic writer. I LOVE this series and am very impressed with not only the skill with which she created it, but with the guts she has demonstrated with some of her plot points. Well done. Well done.

My only fear- that eventually this series will end.

At first I wasn't sure where she was going with this book. It was well worth the day you spend doing nothing but reading the book!

4 out of 5 stars New Direction   August 23, 2010

I generally love romance novels with any sort of paranomal view. As we all know vampires, werewolves, and witches have come and gone time and time again. Well Karen(writer) takes fantasy to a whole new direction. The word fairy is NOTHING like we all believe in our world. This book is dark, magical, DIFFerent, lust, anger, murder, passion, basically not your average romance novel. Incredible story line but the books are cliffhangers which leave you either losing sleep =) or impatient for the final book to come out in january 2011.

I started reading this book because I love fae and vampire novels. This is absolutely awesome so far. It's laurel hamilton in her early books of Anita Blake. I highly recommend this whole series.

5 out of 5 stars Another great read   August 7, 2010

I think this series deserves as many if not more fans than the Twilight books. I bought this book because I got the first book in the series as a Kindle freebie, and got hooked in the first 2 hours of reading. It's true that it is frustrating that the ending is a cliffhanger. But the last book in the series will be out in just a few more months. Anybody who wants a juicy, fun read should dive into this series and I think you'll love it. It's worth the meager price. Beware, it is not a romance series. It is fantasy/action/adventure/suspense.
